Randy Novak, Supervising Pharmacist of the New London Specialty Pharmacy, has over 20 years experience in specialty pharmacy. After earning his bachelor’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, he worked at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Outpatient Pharmacy where he was involved in many diverse therapies. In addition to his clinical and dispensing duties, he compounded FK-506 (Prograf) capsules for transplant patients prior to its approval from the FDA. Randy was the first clinical pharmacist at the Pittsburgh AIDS Center for Treatment. He worked closely with patients and medical staff to provide optimum adherence-focused pharmaceutical care. He also presented numerous educational seminars to various AIDS Service Organizations throughout the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
After relocating to New York, Randy opened and managed the Outpatient Pharmacy at St.Vincents Medical Center, which serviced the HIV clinic. Upon completing his PharmD degree from the University of Florida, he continued working at various HIV specialty pharmacies in New York City as well as serving as the Director of Pharmacy at a Kindred Hospital (a long-term acute care hospital) in Wayne, NJ.
